Looking for a child garden tools set for a little boy…something with handles about 3.5 feet so he has it a while this is the only thing I’ve found so far…Trying to find something just a little bit bigger though…but staying with the same idea (leaf rake, garden rake, hoe, and shovel – you get the picture – and nothing “cheap” plastic)

Carol Asked:
What can I use besides bleach to disinfect english garden tools?
I wanted to prune some shrubs today but I need to disinfect my pruners because I used them on a diseased plant the last time. I just discovered that I’m out of bleach. Is there another household item that I can use for this?
Reply:
Rubbing alcohol, but you will have to soak your English garden tools for at least 20 minutes to a half an hour. Alcohol is not the best choice, but will work in a pinch. Make sure you wash the tools first to remove ALL the debris on the tools BEFORE you soak them in alcohol. You have to soak them longer, because the alcohol does not kill as quickly or thoroughly as bleach.
