Lovely Asked:
Where can I find Christmas gifts for gardeners? Been looking online for home / garden products, but not the standard things I’d find in a garden centre…Any ideas of where I can buy products that are a little bit special?
Reply:
I was in Whittards of Chelsea coffee supplies a few weeks ago and they had a tea set gifts for gardeners which i thought was awesome! the cups were like plant pots, the spoons were like spades, there was a teapot, sugar bowl and milk jug, all on a tray. They were so different I wished I knew someone to get it for!!

Skinny Asked:
Best way to keep your steel garden tools from rusting? I’ve heard about using a bucket of sand and motor oil, but that sounds like creating toxic waste to me.
Reply:
Keeping them clean and using WD 40 or mineral oil even vegetable oil. Even using vegetable oil in the sand bucket is good. Just make sure to remove the heavy part of the dirt before putting them in the bucket and then push them up and down to remove the rest. If you have a lot of rust use white vinegar to help remove the rust or even steel wool.
For wooden handles always use linseed oil. Once a year or twice sand the handle to smooth and soak it good with linseed oil.
If you have fiber glass handles just wash with soap and water and dry.

Keerby Asked:
I’m operating an online business selling garden tools, and need to broaden my selection of tools. Fiskars Hand tools minimum wholesale shipment is $500. I’m not ready for that. Another wholesaler has a 450 minimum. Most garden tools wholesale under $20, so that precludes their drop shipping to my customers. Who is out there that is reliable?

A 4 x 2 garden chalet made of cedar wood should be pretty cheap garden tools. Build one with double doors and adjustable internal height. You can easily build one in a single afternoon.
